Now This Is Making Me Mad This is something that I'm just not getting now... Movable Type is CHMOD'ing all of my index files but none of my individual files. What the heck is going on? UPDATE: I ended up just turning on dynamic updating and CHMOD'ing the mtview.php file to 755. This seems to be working fine for now, and you can all comment again if you so desire. I guess once I finally figured out how to trick the system into working for me it wants to get along. Now In PHP.... Again Back when I was on Bloghosts I used a layout that was generously made for BRG by Jace Herring, the owner/operator of Bloghosts. He did something I'd never done, he designed the site using PHP and it really did kick some ass. I learned a little bit from playing with the layout and adding all the crap that I ended up adding. I wanted to stick with PHP when I first moved over to this new server but all the PHP files created by MT gave a 500 error when you tried to load them in a web browser. I went and fiddled around and eventually figured out I needed to CHMOD them to 755 (777 didn't work surprisingly). I then dived into mt.cfg and found a setting that enables MT to CHMOD all files it creates with any permission you want (default is 777). I set it to 755 and now BRG is brought to you in PHP. This should make updating certain things just that much easier. Tivo: The Bane of My Existence I have a DirecTV install guy at my house right now installing a second dish so I can get local programming... the only problem is that my stupid Tivo is refusing to see the new dish. I'm wondering if a nice bitch slap will fix it... 2nd Place Isn't Too BadI had a position round in my Pepsi One travel league (yeah I'm blogging about my bowling leagues) and ended up securing second place. Would I have preferred first? Of course I would, but I'll take $30 per person over finishing last like I did the round before. All I know is that next round American Fleet Service, my team, is going to win it all!In other news I still need to register for classes but the slacker in me actually might have caused something good. Once she calls me back and tells me what class she's in I will be able to take a Calc class with a friend of mine which should help out a lot. Crap it is really late, and I need to get some sleep. The rest of the layout can wait until tomorrow I guess.Quick Heads UpI've been really busy recently on some important real-life stuff. I don't think I have the time or energy to make a completely new-from-scratch layout so this will have to do for now. The photo was taken by me about two years ago in the backyard of my house in Springfield (I now live in Marshfield), and I added the menu bar underneath that. I need to work some of the kinks out, not all of the links go places on certain pages so I would just like to say deal with it! Tell me what you think though.Headed Home It looks like my stay in New York is almost over, as I will be flying back home to Missouri at 0540 Monday morning NY time. After a short layover in Cincinnati (which is really in Northern Kentucky) I'll board a second flight that will be me to my final destination, Springfield Regional Airport. I'm really looking forward to being back home, even though I will miss it here in NY with my friends and family here. But you know how it works, before I know it the time will fly by and I'll be up here for the summer. I might be attending a friend of my mom's wedding in July but that all depends on what my schedule looks like then. Can you imagine that... 2 weddings in a six month period, my cousin's and this friend of my mom's... I need to find a date!
